Going to college is an investment of time and money, as with any other important investment it is wise to meet with experts to guide your decisions. Students who make informed, thoughtful, and intentional choices when selecting colleges will enjoy more success. Students who take ownership of the process for themselves will feel accomplished and empowered that they have made the right choice and will arrive on campus with confidence.

The student journey of researching, selecting, applying, and enrolling in college can be an overwhelming and stressful process for both students and parents. There are thousands of accredited Colleges and Universities in the U.S. alone and even more abroad. Filtering through thousands of choices to find the right match can be intimidating; but focusing on too few schools can mean you are missing out on the best fit. With expert guidance, students can navigate through the exploration process to narrow down their choices to the right schools. With a personal college counselor, students can create their strongest profiles, apply to the right schools, and improve their chances of being admitted.

Hi I'm Sophie Roth

As a college counselor, recruiter, and consultant over the last decade, I have worked with over 18 Universities all over the world. I have been in admissions roles at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level.

I have worked with Universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Asia, recruiting both domestic and international students.

I have experience in public and private Colleges and large and small institutions. With my extensive and diverse experience, I have a unique understanding of the College landscape.

My personal philosophy is that helping students get into the right school is more important than helping them get into the “best” school.

School rankings should not be the guiding factor for selecting a college. My goal is to help students identify the best schools for them, that will help them excel in the areas that they are passionate about.

I also feel strongly that students should be empowered to take control of the whole process. I believe that guidance and mentorship are more effective than micromanaging the student journey. Allowing students autonomy over these decisions communicates trust and confidence. When parents play a supporting role and counselors play a guiding role, students will feel less stress and be more motivated throughout the journey.

I gear my counseling to the whole family. While the focus of a counseling session is on the student, I always create time and space to answer questions from parents. I know that teenagers are not fountains of information and I am happy to address questions and concerns.
